Immunity • Skin • Repair • Enzyme Function Zinc is an essential mineral involved in hundreds of biological processes.

It contributes to normal: Immune function • wound healing • skin integrity • DNA synthesis • protein synthesis • reproductive physiology • taste and smell

Picolinate Form Picolinate is one supplemental form of zinc used to deliver the mineral orally.

How to use Zinc picolinate 50 mg — 1 daily
Take according to your Balilab program, preferably with food if zinc causes nausea on an empty stomach.

Important for longer use 50 mg is a high supplemental dose, rather than an everyday nutritional maintenance dose.
Long-term high-dose zinc can reduce copper absorption. Therefore prolonged courses should be reviewed rather than continued indefinitely without assessment.
Consult your health provider.

Trace Mineral • Antioxidant Systems • Thyroid Support Selenium is an essential trace mineral required in very small quantities but involved in some extremely important biological systems.

It forms part of specialised proteins called selenoproteins, including enzymes involved in antioxidant defence and thyroid-hormone metabolism.

Why do we use selenium? From a functional/naturopathic perspective, selenium may be used to support:
Antioxidant protection • normal thyroid function • cellular defence • immune function • normal reproductive physiology

Selenium is particularly interesting because several enzymes involved in controlling oxidative stress depend upon it.

How to use 1 tablet = 100 mcg selenium
Take 1 tablet once daily, preferably with food, unless instructed otherwise.

More is not necessarily better Selenium is a trace mineral. The body requires micrograms rather than large quantities.
Long-term excessive intake can produce toxicity, so do not combine multiple high-selenium products without checking your total intake.
Consult your health provider.

Bathing • Bowel & Selected Flush Protocols Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate — a mineral salt containing magnesium and sulfate.
It can be used externally in water and, when specifically manufactured to an appropriate food/pharmaceutical standard, internally for particular purposes.
These are very different applications.

1. Epsom salt bath Added to warm bath water, Epsom salt is traditionally used for:
Relaxation • soaking tired muscles • recovery rituals • foot baths • wellness treatments
This is the gentlest application.

2. Bowel / colon protocols When taken internally, magnesium sulfate draws water into the bowel and can create a strong laxative effect.
For this reason it may occasionally be incorporated into specific bowel-cleansing protocols.

3. Balilab liver/gallbladder flush Food-grade Epsom salt may also be incorporated into our structured liver/gallbladder flush protocol.
In this context it is one component of a larger timed protocol and should not be improvised independently.

Important Never assume bath-grade Epsom salt is suitable for drinking.
Only a product specifically supplied as appropriate for internal use should be considered.
Oral magnesium sulfate can cause powerful diarrhea, dehydration and electrolyte disturbances.
People with kidney disease, intestinal obstruction, severe unexplained abdominal pain or significant dehydration should not undertake an oral flush without professional assessment.
Internal use only according to your Balilab protocol.

Thyroid • Metabolism • Cellular & Nutritional Support LUGOL’S Formula is an essential trace element best known for its fundamental relationship with the thyroid gland and thyroid hormones.
Thyroid hormones help regulate metabolism, temperature, growth, energy utilisation and many aspects of normal cellular function.
LUGOL’S Formula solution provides LUGOL’S Formula in a combination of elemental LUGOL’S Formula and potassium iodide.

Why do we use it? From an integrative and naturopathic perspective, LUGOL’S Formula may be considered when supporting:
Normal thyroid physiology • LUGOL’S Formula nutritional status • metabolic function • normal cellular function
LUGOL’S Formula is concentrated particularly strongly by the thyroid, but LUGOL’S Formula biology also involves other tissues.

How to use LUGOL’S Formula is a concentrated preparation.
Use only the number of drops specified in your individual protocol.
Do not assume that more LUGOL’S Formula produces greater benefit.

Important People with thyroid disease, thyroid nodules, autoimmune thyroid conditions or those taking thyroid medication should have LUGOL’S Formula use individually assessed.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding also substantially change LUGOL’S Formula requirements.
Use under the guidance of your practitioner.

Magnesium • Boron • Fulvic Acid • Sodium Bicarbonate • MSM Minerals are fundamental to human biology.
They participate in electrical signalling, enzyme reactions, muscle contraction, hydration, structural tissues and countless cellular processes.
Our Mineral Mix combines several complementary compounds:

Magnesium Oxide Magnesium contributes to normal muscle, nerve, electrolyte and energy metabolism.

Boron Boron is a trace element of interest particularly in relation to bone, mineral and hormonal physiology.

Fulvic Acid Fulvic substances originate from the natural decomposition of organic plant material.
They contain complex organic molecules capable of interacting with minerals and have a long history in traditional mineral preparations.

MSM Methylsulfonylmethane is an organosulfur compound providing biologically available sulfur.
Sulfur is an important structural element within many compounds found throughout the body.

Sodium Bicarbonate Bicarbonate is one of the body’s naturally occurring chemical buffering systems.
Our mixture uses sodium bicarbonate as one component of the overall mineral formulation.

Why do we use the combination? The philosophy is simple:
Rather than viewing every mineral independently, we use the mixture as part of a broader hydration, mineralisation and nutritional rebuilding strategy.
It may be incorporated into programs involving physical activity, recovery, dietary rebuilding or periods of increased mineral requirements.

How to use Mix the Balilab serving into water according to your individual instructions.

Important This is nutritional mineral support — it is not a treatment for medical acidosis and should not be used to deliberately force blood pH upward.
People with significant kidney disease, heart failure, severe hypertension or sodium/fluid restrictions require individual assessment.
Use according to your Balilab program.

Niacin (Vitamin B3) supports normal energy metabolism and NAD/NADP-dependent cellular processes. At Balilab it is mainly used within selected heavy-metal and detoxification programs, or when specifically indicated as part of broader nutritional support. Higher-dose niacin should be used with guidance because it can cause flushing and may affect liver function and glucose metabolism.

N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) provides cysteine used by the body to produce glutathione, one of our most important endogenous antioxidant systems. It is well established clinically as a mucolytic, helping loosen thick respiratory mucus, and has important applications in liver protection. Research also explores NAC for oxidative stress, inflammation and metabolic/reproductive conditions including PCOS.

Supporting the Living Intestinal Ecosystem The human intestine contains an enormous ecosystem of microorganisms collectively known as the gut microbiome.
These organisms interact with digestion, intestinal barrier function, microbial metabolites and the immune system.
Our liquid probiotic combines 13 bacterial strains to provide a broader microbial mixture rather than relying upon one organism alone.

Why do we use it? From an integrative perspective, probiotics may be useful when supporting the intestinal ecosystem following:
Antibiotics • digestive disturbance • dietary disruption • travel • intestinal cleansing programs • periods of microbial imbalance
Different bacterial strains perform different functions, so probiotics should not be thought of simply as “good bacteria in a bottle.”

How to use 3 drops in the morning
3 drops at lunchtime
3 drops in the evening
Follow the storage instructions on the bottle because probiotics contain living microorganisms.
If using antibiotics, antiparasitic medicines or intestinal adsorbents such as zeolite, follow the timing/separation instructions given by your therapist.
People who are severely immunocompromised or medically fragile should obtain professional advice before using concentrated probiotics.
Use according to your Balilab protocol.

Traditional Mineral-Rich Whole-Food Support Blackstrap molasses is the dark, mineral-rich syrup remaining after repeated processing of sugar cane.
Unlike refined white sugar, blackstrap molasses retains naturally occurring minerals from the original plant.
Depending upon the product, these can include:
Potassium • magnesium • calcium • iron • copper • selenium and other trace elements

Why do we use it? At Balilab we use blackstrap molasses primarily as a traditional mineral-rich food in lemon water with salt in the morning to help hydrate and have access to bio-available iron, or at night in an herbal infusion, clove for example against mold and extract copper and magnesium from the molasses exposure to the plant and water temperature.
It can be incorporated into nutritional rebuilding programs when we want to provide minerals through a simple whole-food source rather than relying exclusively upon isolated supplements.

How to use Use the quantity recommended in your individual nutritional program, mostly 1 teaspoon in the morning or at night.
It can be diluted into water or incorporated into appropriate foods and drinks.

Important Blackstrap molasses is mineral rich — but it still contains natural sugars and carbohydrates.
People managing elevated blood glucose, diabetes or insulin resistance should therefore use it according to their individual nutritional plan.
Food can be medicine, but the amount still matters.

Traditional Indonesian Bitter Herbal Medicine Brotowali is an intensely bitter climbing plant used throughout Southeast Asian traditional medicine.
Its botanical name is Tinospora crispa.
In Indonesia it has a long history within traditional jamu and herbal practice.
The bitter taste itself is part of why Brotowali became associated traditionally with digestive and metabolic herbal preparations.

Why do we use it? From a traditional and naturopathic perspective, Brotowali may be incorporated into selected protocols concerned with:
Digestive balance • metabolic support • traditional microbial/parasite-oriented cleansing • inflammatory balance • general bitter-herb stimulation
Modern laboratory research has identified numerous biologically active constituents in Tinospora, although this does not mean that every traditional application has been clinically established.

How to use Brotowali is a strong medicinal herb, rather than an everyday herbal tea.
Use the preparation and quantity specified in your Balilab protocol.

Important More Brotowali is not better.
High-dose or prolonged Tinospora crispa use has been associated with liver injury. Avoid unsupervised prolonged courses, particularly in people with existing liver disease.
Stop and obtain professional advice if unusual fatigue, persistent nausea, dark urine, pale stools or yellowing of the skin or eyes develops.
Consult your health provider.

Indonesia’s Powerful Bitter Herb Sambiloto is one of Indonesia’s classic bitter medicinal plants.
Its botanical name is Andrographis paniculata, and its characteristic compounds include andrographolides.
The extraordinarily bitter taste has earned Andrographis the traditional description “King of Bitters.”

Why do we use it? Sambiloto has a long history in Indonesian jamu and Asian herbal medicine.
From a traditional and integrative perspective, it is commonly considered in protocols supporting:
Immune resilience • respiratory wellness • digestive balance • inflammatory balance • microbial defence
Modern research has also investigated Andrographis and its constituents for immune, inflammatory and antimicrobial biological activities.
This does not make Sambiloto a replacement for appropriate diagnosis or treatment of a serious infection.

How to use Take according to the quantity and duration specified in your Balilab herbal protocol.
Because it is a biologically active bitter herb, we generally favour purposeful courses rather than indefinite unsupervised use.

Important Pregnancy and breastfeeding require particular caution with concentrated medicinal herbs.
If you take prescription medicines or have significant liver, kidney or autoimmune conditions, discuss concentrated Sambiloto use with your therapist or doctor.
Use according to your individual Balilab program.

Traditional Indonesian Herbal Medicine Ancient Botanical Knowledge in a Modern Wellness Setting

What is Jamu?
Jamu is not one particular drink.
It is Indonesia’s extraordinary living tradition of herbal preparations, tonics and botanical medicine, developed and passed between generations over centuries.
Different jamu formulations may contain roots, rhizomes, leaves, bark, fruits, seeds and spices.
Common ingredients can include:
Turmeric • ginger • tamarind • galangal • lemongrass • aromatic spices • sambiloto • other Indonesian medicinal plants
Each formulation therefore has a different character and purpose.

The Balilab philosophy We believe traditional botanical knowledge and modern biological understanding do not need to compete.
Traditional medicine provides generations of empirical knowledge about plants, preparation and human experience.
Modern analysis can help us understand:
plant identification • active compounds • extraction • concentration • contamination • interactions • dose and safety
We aim to bring these two worlds together.

Why do we use Jamu? Depending upon the ingredients, a Balilab jamu formulation may be designed around:
Digestive wellness • immune resilience • metabolic support • circulation • recovery • inflammatory balance • women’s wellness • respiratory support • general vitality
The function depends entirely upon the plants inside the formulation.

How to use Follow the instructions supplied with your particular Balilab jamu.
Because Jamu is a category rather than a single medicine, there is no universal Jamu dose.

Traditional does not mean weak Plants contain biologically active chemistry.
Some medicinal plants can interact with prescription medicines or be inappropriate during pregnancy, breastfeeding or particular medical conditions.
For this reason we combine respect for Indonesian traditional knowledge with sensible modern screening.
Know the plant. Know the person. Use the appropriate preparation.

Native to Indonesia’s legendary Maluku Spice Islands, clove has been valued for centuries in Indonesian cuisine, jamu, oral care and traditional botanical medicine.

Clove is naturally rich in eugenol, an aromatic plant compound studied for its antioxidant, antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Laboratory research has demonstrated activity against various fungi, yeasts and moulds, making clove particularly interesting in formulations focused on microbial and environmental balance.

Traditionally, clove is used to support digestion, oral health, respiratory comfort, circulation and the body’s natural protective mechanisms.

Its intense aroma, warming character and remarkable phytochemistry make clove a perfect powerhouse plant with an ORAC scale of 290.000 ( highest score in plants vs 5000 for Vit C) rediscovering powerful traditional Indonesian botanicals through a modern scientific lens.

Indonesian Heritage • Eugenol • Antioxidants • Microbial Balance • Digestive Support

Used for centuries throughout Asian culinary and botanical traditions, star anise combines its unmistakable aromatic character with fascinating modern phytochemistry.

It naturally contains trans-anethole and is one of the best-known botanical sources of shikimic acid—a valuable natural compound used as a starting material in pharmaceutical synthesis, including the manufacture of the antiviral medicine oseltamivir (Tamiflu).

This does not mean star anise itself acts like Tamiflu; rather, it demonstrates how traditional plants can contain molecules of considerable modern scientific importance.

Star anise has traditionally been used for digestion, respiratory comfort, appetite and gastrointestinal balance, while its constituents are studied for antioxidant, antimicrobial and antifungal properties.

Asian Tradition • Shikimic Acid • Trans-Anethole • Digestion • Respiratory Support • Phytochemistry

Traditional “Stone Breaker” Herbal Support Chanca Piedra also know as “stone breaker.”
The name reflects the plant’s long traditional association with the kidneys, urinary tract and urinary stones.
Plants from the Phyllanthus family have been used in South American, Asian and other traditional herbal systems.

Why do we use it? From an integrative and naturopathic perspective, Chanca Piedra may be incorporated into programs supporting:
Kidney and urinary wellness • urinary flow • traditional stone-oriented protocols • mineral balance within the urinary system
Modern research has investigated Phyllanthus niruri in people with urinary stones, including possible effects on stone formation and urinary mineral parameters.
The clinical evidence is interesting but still developing.

How to use Take according to your individual Balilab herbal protocol.
Good hydration is generally an important part of urinary and kidney-support programs unless fluid restriction has been medically prescribed.

Important “Stone breaker” does not mean that every kidney stone can safely be treated at home.
A stone causing obstruction can become an emergency.
Severe persistent flank pain, fever, vomiting, blood in the urine, inability to urinate or signs of infection require proper medical assessment.
Consult your health provider.

Our purified clinoptilolite zeolite powder is used principally as a gastrointestinal binder within selected detoxification programs. Clinoptilolite has ion-exchange and adsorption properties and has been investigated for binding environmental contaminants and supporting mineral homeostasis, although human evidence remains developing.

Zeolite may also be used externally in baths or skin preparations. Oral use is recommended only according to an appropriate protocol and adequate hydration.

FSF is purified food-grade diatomaceous earth, a naturally occurring silica-rich powder derived from fossilized diatoms.

It can be used externally as a physical desiccant for insects such as bed bugs, and diatomaceous-earth dust has demonstrated effectiveness against bed-bug infestations.

Within our wellness programs it may also be used selectively for household, animal or nutritional applications. Internal parasite gentle deworm option with diatomaceous earth are well known in human clinical research, but internal use should be individually advised.

These products are supportive wellness tools rather than substitutes for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Mitochondrial Redox Support • Photobiomodulation Biohack Methylene blue is a fascinating compound because it interacts with cellular redox chemistry and has a particular affinity for mitochondria.
Mitochondria are the structures inside our cells responsible for transforming nutrients and oxygen into usable cellular energy.
At carefully controlled concentrations, methylene blue has been investigated for its ability to participate in electron transfer within mitochondrial energy pathways.
This is why it has attracted considerable interest in mitochondrial medicine, longevity research, neuroscience and biohacking.

Methylene blue + red light Methylene blue also interacts with light.
For this reason Balilab may occasionally combine carefully selected low-dose methylene blue with a controlled red-light / photobiomodulation cycle.
The objective is not simply “more stimulation.” Light wavelength, methylene-blue concentration, timing and the individual’s biological condition all matter.
Methylene blue can behave as a photosensitiser, meaning inappropriate combinations of concentration and light can produce effects very different from low-level mitochondrial support.
Therefore this combination should be considered a controlled biohack, not a home experiment.

How Balilab may use it Under individual supervision, our 1% aqueous methylene blue solution may occasionally be incorporated into protocols involving:
Mitochondrial support • cellular-energy optimisation • selected red-light cycles • selected microbial/Candida-oriented integrative protocols
Its use for Candida or general mitochondrial optimisation should be understood as an integrative/biohacking application, not a guaranteed treatment for infection or fatigue.

Practitioner-directed amount When specifically selected for an adult client:
approximately 5–10 drops diluted in water, adjusted according to body weight, general health, medications and the objective of the protocol.
This is not a universal dose.

Very important Methylene blue is biologically active and should not be treated like an ordinary vitamin.
It can interact seriously with certain antidepressants and other medicines affecting serotonin.
People with G6PD deficiency require particular caution because methylene blue can cause red-blood-cell damage.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, significant medical conditions and prescription medication use require professional review.
Only appropriately sourced methylene blue intended for human use should be considered.
Do not combine methylene blue with red-light therapy or use it internally without approval from your health provider.

Traditional Abdominal • Bowel • Skin & Wellness Support Castor oil comes from the seed of Ricinus communis.
Its characteristic fatty acid is ricinoleic acid, which gives castor oil many of its unusual physical and biological properties.
Castor oil has been used traditionally for generations both externally and internally.

Why do we use it? In naturopathic practice, castor oil is commonly incorporated into:
Warm abdominal packs • digestive and bowel protocols • massage • skin applications • traditional liver-area wellness routines
A warm castor-oil pack placed over the abdomen is quite different from drinking castor oil.
Parasitic and waste removal in the colon.
Sometimes sore throat.

External use Castor oil can be applied to a cloth or suitable compress and used as part of a warm abdominal treatment according to your Balilab instructions.
Hair growth and
Information carrier and delivery through the epidermis.
Against polyps and cysts.

Internal use Taken orally, castor oil acts as a strong stimulant laxative and can cause substantial bowel evacuation.
Eyes use: removal of floaters, and parasitic larvae.
Oral use should therefore only be undertaken when specifically included in your protocol.

Important Do not drink castor oil simply because you want to “detox faster.”
Excessive use can cause cramping, diarrhea, dehydration and electrolyte disturbance.
Avoid internal use during pregnancy unless specifically medically directed and do not use it for unexplained severe abdominal pain or suspected intestinal obstruction.
Consult your health provider.
